Departments Of Zoology

About the Department : The department of zoology was established in the year 1974. It has two P.G. Lab with a sitting capacity of 40 Student and a UG lab with a sitting capacity of 50 students. A museum, store room, equipment room, animal house and separate rooms for the department staff are the other accommodation available in department.

Aims and Objectives: The College aims to fulfill the education needs of the people of industrial city Bhilai Nagar and its suburban.

Profile of Departmental Members: The ratio of part time teacher to full time teacher of the department is 66:33 and that of academic to administrative staff 2:1

Departmental Publication: A part from teaching the staff members of the department are actively involved in research. Behavioral ecology of crabs, effect of environmental stress on food fish, development of gonads in fishes & reptiles are the areas of research, in which many research journals. Book for the PG classes are also written by the members of staff.

Facilities: The department has sufficient working space for U.G, P.G and research work. A department library containing 1005 books, equipment costing about Rs. 7, 30,325/- Faculty and Technical Staff suffice the needs of students.

Department of Biotechnology: The department of Biotechnology was established in the year 2006. The vision behind this was to meet the growing demands and needs of biotech industries for professionally qualified and practical trained candidates. Over the year the department has grown and has become one stop center for learning the hands on stills in all the fields of biotechnology.
